Coastal Sun Light Beer

This is a project undertaken to primarily work and experiment with non-english typography. I settled on the design for a light beer in Japan because of its extensive canned-beer variety and growing craft-beer culture. It utilizes thin, but bold red imagery and textual elements for a simple, minimalistic and groovy pattern.

Anatomy of a Murder Book Cover

This project is a soft-cover book jacket, consisting of a back, spine, and cover. The book itself is a 1958 legal-thriller novel by Robert Traver, considered one of the best in the genre, whose book would go on to become the award-winning film adaptation by Otto Preminger. The cover’s art reflects the dissection of the murder weapon as a blueprint, and the human anatomy or motive that lies behind it.

Bauhaus Cosmic Poster

This project is a poster based off of an original typeface/font design I created out of a modular-element system. The typeface, which I called Bauhaus Cosmic, references pulp science-fiction movie posters and novella covers from the 70’s and 80’s. The typeface has an entire 36-character set consisting of the English alphabet and numbers 0-9.

Frontier Outdoor Supply

This project, created as my capstone/thesis work, is an extensive outdoor and camping supply brand identity named Frontier. It includes several pieces, from internal memos and business cards to clothing and packaging and a promotional magazine. It utilizes an orange, black and white color scheme, and is designed to appeal to those who love and want to explore the outdoors.

Excursion Magazine

This project is a smaller piece of my Frontier brand identity capstone project. This eleven-page mini-magazine focuses on Frontier’s “community-submitted” stories as part of promoting the brand’s message that the outdoors are for everyone. All environmental photography in the project was taken by me at various National Parks across the United States.

Flashback Retro Clothing

This project was designed for a boutique women’s fashion shop that would sell primarily retro and older-eras-inspired clothing. It includes a brand identity and some associated elements like business cards, clothing tags, and custom handbags. The logo symbol and type are evocative of a classy, retro-floral, lava-lamp style.
